If you were planning on using jarred gravy at your big feast this week, you better check the label.
Days before millions of Americans will set the Thanksgiving table, a staple of that holiday meal is being recalled.
The company is in the process of recalling 500 cases of HomeStyle Bistro Au Jus Gravy because they were mislabeled as Heinz Pork Gravy.
Symptoms of food allergies typically appear from within a few minutes to two hours after a person has eaten the food to which he or she is allergic.
The affected containers were distributed all across the country. Some jars may be mislabeled as Heinz Pork Gravy, the company said, and therefore their labels do not state that the gravy contains milk and soy. The jar's UPC reads 013000798907.
Consumers who purchased this product shouldn't eat it and should return it to the store where it was purchased for an exchange or full refund.
The 12 oz jars of Heinz HomeStyle Gravy Bistro Au Jus is the only Heinz product being recalled.
Anyone who has questions or wants to request a refund by phone can call the company at 1-866-572-3808 Monday through Friday, 9 a.m.to 6 p.m. EST.
