As per the game's official website, "Mobius Final Fantasy" will be ported to PC platforms via Steam starting on February 6, 2017. Given its unprecedented success, the mentioned mobile game is now making its way to global audiences on Steam. But because it will now be on playable on PC, gamers can expect the standards to be of higher quality. The players progress in the game can be shared between the mobile and PC versions, letting the player move back and forth between platforms. However, you'll be able to play with much higher frame rates and resolutions.
Mobius Final Fantasy, in case you're unaware, is a free-to-download RPG mobile game which landed on mobile devices in 2016.
In a Square Enix blog interview, project leader Naoki Hamaguchi said he would like to do a Final Fantasy XV collaboration "in some way or another in the future", as well as collaborate with other Final Fantasy titles. What results is a scenario within MFF that uses Cloud and teams him up with the in-game characters.
Within this new and upscaled Mobius Final Fantasy game, it was then quite simple for Square Enix to use the graphical and gameplay resources for Cloud - coming from Final Fantasy VII Remake which is now under development - within the game.
"Mobius Final Fantasy" comes to PC platforms via Steam on February 6. "We would love for you to play the collaboration event as you look forward to the game's release".
Given how far away Final Fantasy 7 Remake feels, this may be the closest we'll get to the game for a long time. The game's character also return's the "Final Fantasy" job system where in players can customize the characters with endless combinations of jobs and abilities.
