Man with rifle and spray paint sparks freaky standoff in Oakland

The weird standoff began after a sniper report near Golf Links Drive and 98th Ave. around 9 a.m.

On Friday morning, police in Oakland, California, disarmed and arrested a man who was firing a rifle at police officers and residents of a Oakland neighborhood. Finally, SWAT team officers shot the suspect when he was outside, and that's when tension reaches a high point.

Police tell KTVU shots were been fired in the area.

The gunman came out of a house and spray painted a garage and a auto, KRON4 reported. Video footage showed him being loaded into an ambulance. Police rushed to the scene and cordoned off the area as the gunman was seen shooting out of a window of the second story of a home.

The suspect was transported to a hospital and is listed in serious condition.

Cops were scrambled to the scene in the USA after reports of an active shooter situation. Officials said he was injured before he was taken into custody.
