Wenger on a hiding to nothing as Lincoln City visit Arsenal

Theo Walcott gave Arsenal the lead shortly before halftime and Arsenal then poured in goals after the break as Lincoln finally ran out of steam.

I mean. Cop on to yourself, Lucas. "We will go there believing in ourselves", Waterfall added.

"The FA Cup is the next game, and of course, when you've had a disappointment like we had in the last game, it's important [to respond]", Wenger said. I wanted to see how Barcelona finished the game and, in fact, they had half-given up.

While being realistic over the prospect of his team upsetting the Gunners at the Emirates Stadium, where the Imps are set to bring some 9,000 supporters, Cowley is determined not to let the occasion get to his side.

There was worse to come on Tuesday when Arsenal were eliminated from the Champions League in humiliating fashion as Bayern Munich's 5-1 victory condemned Wenger to his heaviest home defeat since 1998. "Not to mention that this is the manager who has virtually repeated the same mediocre season for Arsenal, year after year, for the past 12 years, without even thinking about resigning".

While there has been rumours about the idea of a club legend like Thierry Henry, now the assistant manager of the Belgium National Team, taking over or even somebody like Eddie Howe from Bournemouth, with the amount of money in the Premier League and the competitiveness of the league getting stronger every season, Arsenal would be wise to look at a manager who can win trophies and has experience managing a big club.

Lincoln's place in history is already secure after becoming the first non-league team since 1914 to reach the quarter-finals of the world's oldest knockout competition.

"Lincoln have an audacious attitude and they are not scared to express their talent". The Imps, now top of the National League and in their first season under new manager Danny Cowley, have beaten Oldham, Championship sides Ipswich and Brighton and Premier League outfit Burnley to reach this stage.

"It was all us in the second half but you have to congratulate Lincoln for what they have achieved in the FA Cup". They fielded an inexperienced blend of youth and reserve team players that were not a match for the organised and well-prepared Lincoln side.

They still have a full week between this fixture and their next Premier League game, plenty of time for players to recover, and Lincoln may find themselves facing more of the big guns than they might if Arsenal had other interests.

'I haven't decided yet on Mesut, he still felt not too well after the game.
