Edgar Wright's Baby Driver Gets A Blistering First Trailer

The film, which has already been screened at the South by Southwest Film Festival, comes out in August. After establishing himself as one of the most exciting up and coming filmmakers with his Three Flavours Cornetto trilogy, which consisted of Shaun of the Dead, Hot Fuzz and The World's End - all excellent, by the way - not to mention bringing us the equally as good Scott Pilgrim vs.

This looks like exactly the movie that I was hoping for, and it's something that Edgar Wright's most loyal fans might not have expected from him.

The vehicle chases in particular look fantastic, and Elgort could very well steal the show in what appears to be a great role for the young actor.

"I always wanted to do an action movie that was powered by music". Wright also shared that he'd strap himself to the auto during the chase scenes instead of following behind in a second vehicle, so he could better see the action and communicate with his cast.

And if the glowing reactions to the film's Saturday night screening at SXSW are any indication, Baby Driver is well on its way to joining them there. Jamie Foxx is a character, Kevin Spacey is a character, Jon Hamm. It gets genuinely tense and threatening. "When I started actually writing it I had ideas for set pieces, so just through listening to my record collection I would visualize themes and then when I wrote the rest of the script I wouldn't write the scene until I found the right track".

"A talented, young getaway driver relies on the beat of his personal soundtrack to be the best in the game". However, after being roped in to work for a crime cross, played by Kevin Spacey, "he must face the music when a doomed heist threatens his life, love, and freedom".
