Who is Steve Stephens, suspect in Cleveland Facebook killing?

Authorities are on the hunt for 37-year-old Steve Stephens, who they say videotaped himself shooting an elderly Cleveland man and then posted it on Facebook.

"Suspect did broadcast the killing on Facebook Live and has claimed to have committed multiple other homicides which are yet to be verified", the police said in a statement, referring to social-media network Facebook Inc's live-streaming video service.

Cleveland police are now saying Steve "Stevie Steve" Stephens may have left out of Ohio.

There were at least nine GoFundMe pages set up online soliciting funds to help Godwin's family, but Cleveland Police Chief Calvin Williams said the family is asking people not to contribute to any of those pages because they weren't set up by the family. "I just killed 13 motherf*ckers man".

Police say Steve Stephens shot Godwin on Sunday afternoon. He allegedly recorded a video of himself killing a 74-year-old man.

The 37-year-old suspect is considered armed and risky and claims he has killed more people, but police have not verified any more homicides.

Police said Sunday night Stephens may have now left the state and they are warning residents of Pennsylvania, Indiana, Michigan and NY to be on alert.

In the shooting video, Stephens told Godwin a woman's name and said, "She's the reason that this is about to happen to you".

"This is a horrific crime and we do not allow this kind of content on Facebook", a Facebook spokesperson told Buzzfeed.

Cleveland's police chief says officers have searched dozens of places since the shooting Sunday and told residents to go about their business, but be careful. "We work hard to keep a safe environment on Facebook, and are in touch with law enforcement in emergencies when there are direct threats to physical safety".

Joy Lane, who dated Stephens for several years, said in a statement that Stephens is "a nice guy. he is generous with everyone he knows". An aggravated murder warrant has been issued for him.

In one of the videos, Stephens can be seen holding up his Beech Brook employee identification badge.

The video of the killing was up for about three hours before it was removed.

The video shows the man on the ground, bleeding as Stephens walks back to his white vehicle, described by police as a Ford Fusion, and drives off.

A manhunt is underway in OH and surrounding states for a man accused of posting a Facebook video as he gunned down an elderly man.

Stephens is described as a Black male, about 6-feet-1 inch tall, 240 pounds with a beard. The FBI is assisting with a manhunt.
