Carmelo Anthony and wife La La Anthony separate amid cheating allegations

TMZ Sports has reported that Anthony and his wife of seven years have split because he allegedly knocked up a stripper who works at a gentlemen's club in New York City. La La Anthony reportedly has moved out of their home and into an apartment in NY.

While the couple had experienced their share of adversity, like pretty much everybody else, a source told TMZ that this year's season, and particularly the past several months, have been extremely hard on them.

The report claims that the split was amicable and both were at 10-year old son Kiyan's basketball game over the weekend.

Carmelo Anthony is not having a good month.

The couple married in 2010 in NY, and Carmelo Anthony soon after began seeking a trade from Denver to the Knicks.

New York Knicks President Phil Jackson said on April 14 that Carmelo "would be better off somewhere else".

Looks like Anthony's time in NY is just about over. Anthony, Rose and Noah all have been dealing with their respective declines, injuries and off-court issues, making them a tough sell in trade talks. "No divorce papers have been filed and as of right now, this is just a separation".

The question is: what would the pros and cons be of Phil Jackson and the New York Knicks actually trading star forward Carmelo Anthony?

But while Carmelo has made dozens of millions of dollars as the Knicks first option over the last several years, his team has missed the playoffs each of the last three seasons. There has been much speculation about Anthony's future with the team. The woman is reportedly claiming to be nearly seven months pregnant with the National Basketball Association superstar's child, and is requesting that Carmelo pay for her medical expenses and other costs.

Moreover, Carmelo himself has been the subject of numerous trade rumors, especially over the course of the 2016-2017 season. The two, who were married in 2010, reportedly don't have any plans to take Kiyan away from his friends and school. Insiders say they've been fighting for the a year ago and that their marriage has been on the rocks during that time. And Knicks fans are wondering if the team's hard season was to blame.
