Its "magical flavors start off sweet and fruity transforming to pleasantly sour", and it does not contain coffee.
For a grande version - that's 16 ounces - made with whole milk and topped with whipped cream, the drink is 410 calories. Burson added that his intentions were not to "downgrade" the Unicorn Frappuccino.
The bright purple and blue beverage blends pink powder, mango syrup and sour blue drizzle into a crème frap.
Once the drink is given a stir, its beverage changes to pink, and the flavor evolves to tangy and tart.
"I've never made so many frappuccinos in my entire life", he says.
Thankfully these majestic drinks are on a limited run, but it's unclear if your favorite barista will make it through to the end. Have you ordered a Unicorn Frappuccino? The Unicorn Frappuccino will be available in participating Starbucks stores until Sunday, April 23.
It's no secret that I'm an avid Starbucks drinker, and I jumped at the opportunity to try this unique concoction. It barely tasted like anything more than flavored water, and I was struck by a thought: If you're going to sell something that looks like a rainbow, shouldn't it at least taste unique? Probably not. The Unicorn Frappuccino may be mythical looking, but it is packed full of sugar and a little too sweet for my taste. "Then all of a sudden all these people were making it and tagging it, and now the unicorn thing has gotten just insane". Just a few more days!
"It doesn't matter how this drink tastes", observes The A.V. Club.
We don't know which type of Frappuccinos go where, we just hand them out.
