Beyonce and Jay Z bid $120m for Bel Air mansion

The 35-year-old singer-songwriter and Jay, 47, are now preparing for the arrival of twins and, in a bid for more privacy, the married couple are planning to move from NY to Los Angeles.

After a few near misses, Beyoncé and Jay Z may finally be buying a permanent home in L.A. The newly remodeled hilltop location boasts 11 bathrooms, a media room, space for a recording studio, a garage that can fit 15 cars, separate staff quarters and a big spa with a hot tub, sauna and steam room. It also offers sweeping views of Los Angeles.

And if they want to stretch their feet with the kids, that's no problem either - the two acre plot includes 10,000 square feet of "outdoor living space".

Designed by architect Paul McClean, the home is being sold off-market with an asking price of $135 million.

A real estate source told the New York Post newspaper's Page Six column: "The house is beyond words". Reportedly no expense was spared to redesign the home.

Beyonce and Jay-Z are looking to settle down in style ahead of the birth of their twins by putting a bid down on one of LA's most outstanding mansions. Later, designer Tom Ford reportedly outbid them on another Beverly Hills mansion. Since then, they've only rented mansions in LA.

And the Bey Hive is in luck! They've also been checking out private kindergartens in the area for their daughter, Blue Ivy, 5. Jay Z, a rap icon, philanthropist and entrepreneur, came to prominence in the late 1990s and early 2000s with the albums Reasonable Doubt, In My Lifetime, Vol. 1, Vol. 2, Vol. 3 and The Dynasty.
