This led to them wanting the WWE Universal Championship, until Ambrose declared his title as the best and called Kurt Angle to make a No. 1 Contender's match for the Intercontinental Championship. He's nearly ideal for the thing and since there's nothing else for him to do on "Monday Night Raw" with the Universal Title in the deep freeze, it makes as much sense as anything else to just let Miz run with the Intercontinental Title.
Samoa Joe and Bray Wyatt have ruined Seth Rollins and Finn Balor's chances of becoming the next Intercontinental Champion in shocking style.
This took place during a Miz TV segment that aired in the Payback pre-show.
The Miz entered and said Ambrose was an embarrassment as a champion, while Rollins and Balor have not earned the right to fight for the title.
Balor, Rollins and Miz went all-out in this match, bringing out nearly every move out of their respective arsenals. The Demon King then reminded Rollins how the former with an injured arm defeated the latter to become the first-ever Universal Champion in 2016.
Finn Balor then reminded Rollins that he never lost the Championship and that the line for Lesnar's championship started with him.
Finn Balor returned earlier this month, but this is the first time that he has made it known that he's going back after his Universal Championship title.
After a long showdown in WWE Raw, Finn Balor looked like he was on his way to earn the number one contender spot.
