McDowell County to observe National Day of Prayer

The Christian Ministers Fellowship is the longtime sponsor of local National Day of Prayer events, headlined by the Mayor's Prayer Breakfast, scheduled this year for 7 a.m. Thursday at the WTJR television studio, 222 N. A worship band will be featured at the evening event, as will praise dancers from El Encuentro Church.

Billie said she hopes by holding the Pre-National Day of Prayer event inside a church this year that it will result in more awareness of the event and a larger turnout for next year.

In Lakeland, Church at the Mall will open its chapel doors to the community from 11 a.m. until 1 p.m. on May 4.
