Harden, James top All-NBA team; George, Hayward shut out

Harden set career-highs in scoring (29.1 ppg, 2nd in NBA), rebounding (8.1 rpg), and assists (11.2 apg, 1st in NBA) in 2017, the third straight year he's done that.

After not being named one of the top 15 players in the league last season, Harden will likely be the runner-up to the MVP award this year. Leonard was a first-teamer on 96 ballots, second team on three and third team on one.

James and Westbrook were on 99 first-team ballots, and second team on the lone other.

George and Hayward fell well short of making any of the three All-NBA teams, which means they will not be eligible to get the "supermax" extensions from IN and Utah this summer and now will face more questions about their futures IN their respective cities.

Golden State's Stephen Curry and Kevin Durant were second-team choices, joined by Milwaukee's Giannis Antetokounmpo, Utah's Rudy Gobert, and Boston's Isaiah Thomas.

Cavs-Celtics: James did pretty much whatever he wanted to against the Celtics in the Cavaliers' dominating 117-104 win in Game 1 of the Eastern Conference finals.

Harden has an option to be a free agent in two years, and Wall's contract expires at the same time.

Anthony Davis, Pelicans: Davis ranked fourth in the National Basketball Association in scoring (career-high 28.0 ppg), seventh in rebounding (career-high 11.8 rpg) and second in blocked shots (2.23 bpg) while appearing in a career-high 75 games. He, Moses Malone, Hakeem Olajuwon and Yao Ming are the only players in Rockets franchise history with at least four All-NBA selections. "It's kind of hard to put guys on the first, second, third teams". Players who received votes at multiple positions were slotted at the position where they received the most votes.

Third-team selections were Washington's John Wall and Toronto's DeMar DeRozan at guard, Golden State's Draymond Green and Chicago's Jimmy Butler at forward, and DeAndre Jordan of the Los Angeles Clippers at center. Voters were asked to select two guards, two forwards and one center for each team, picking players at the position they play regularly.

The NBA's remaining 2016-17 award winners will be revealed during the inaugural NBA Awards on TNT June 26 at 9 p.m. ET at Basketball City in NY.
