Reema Lagoo, who played mother to top Bollywood actors, dies

On her sudden demise the filmmaker told Indian Express, "The sudden death of dear friend hurls one into deep silence".
The veteran actress was admitted to the hospital on Wednesday night after she complained of chest pain. She passed away because of a heart assault around 3.15 am.
Veteran film and TV actor Reema Lagoo has died of a cardiac arrest, ANI has confirmed.

In an acting career spanning nearly four decades, Lagoo appeared in several hit films like "Saajan", "Vaastav, "Kuch Kuch Hota Hai", "Hum Saath-Saath Hain", "Deewana Mastana", "Yes Boss" and "Main Prem Ki Diwani Hoon".
Reema had shot to fame with her iconic comedy show Tu Tu Main Main (1990s), in which she had shared screen space with Supriya Pilgaonkar.
She was last seen in the television show "Naamkaran", in which she essayed the role of the antagonist Dayavanti Mehta. While the actor played the role of Babuji, Reema played the mother or samdhan. She was considered to be Bollywood's favourite mother.
She was married to Marathi actor Vivek Lagoo, the couple separated later. Her last screen appearance was in the Marathi film Katyar Kaljat Ghusali. Lagoo was a dedicated stage performer who started her acting career nearly as soon as she completed school.
She did more films under the category of Mother role such as Kuch Kuch Hota Hai, Kal Ho Naa Ho, Hum Aapke Hain Kaun, Hum Saath Saath Hain, Vaastav and Maine Pyar Kiya. She was the daughter of a well-known Marathi actress and began acting herself after finishing school in Pune. "Prayers to the family".
