Top dollar: Browns sign Myles Garrett, 1st overall pick

Myles Garrett, the No. 1 overall pick in the 2017 National Football League draft, signed with the Cleveland Browns on Friday.

Brantley had 20 tackles for loss, 5.5 sacks, and three forced fumbles while making 22 starts at the University of Florida and his play led many to predict that he'd come off the board in the first couple of rounds this year.

So it was that Myles Garrett signed his rookie deal with the Browns Friday as the soothing sounds of Seal's "Kiss From a Rose" played in the background.

The 6-foot-4 1/2, 272-pound Aggies standout was held to 8 1/2 sacks last season while he dealt with a high-ankle sprain.

After getting drafted, Garrett made waves when he said he was targeting Pittsburgh Steelers quarterback Ben Roethlisberger for his first sack.

"Unlike what [a reporter] said, he said I was slow off the ball, but that is coming from the very best", Garrett told reporters Sunday. Why should I be afraid of saying those kinds of things? You are trying to make a name for yourself. "It gives him an awesome opportunity to be really successful for us and an impact player Day One". So we just trust them and their decisions.

With Garrett in the fold, Cleveland has signed six of the 10 players it drafted last month.

Garrett joins DL Larry Ogunjobi (third round), DB Howard Wilson (fourth round), OL Rod Johnson (fifth round), K Zane Gonzalez (seventh round) and RB Matthew Dayes (seventh round) under contract with the team. I haven't been around a lot of guys like him.
