Surprise! President Donald Trump has tried to take credit for yet another thing he had no hand in, which has the internet spiraling.
The canal connecting the Pacific and Atlantic Oceans was finished in 1914. President Trump congratulated President Varela on the Panama Canal expansion, which benefits American and Panamanian businesses and is a key driver of economic growth in the region. Trump told Varela, who responded, "Very good job". "The relationship is very strong".
I suppose we should be thankful he didn't praise Varela for their rousing Van Halen national anthem.
Trump was sitting down with President Juan Carlos Varela in their first face-to-face meeting since the start of the Trump presidency.
The president and first lady returned to the White House on Sunday after spending just one night at Camp David with their 11-year-old son, Barron.
The focus of the talks between Trump and Varela include their shared priorities in the fight against transnational organized crime, illegal migration, and illicit substances, according the White House.
Martinelli's attorneys also said he had already left the country to seek political asylum in the United States before charges were brought by Panama.
Panama President Vamela further said that they are looking forward for meeting with the other directors of the agencies to establish - to work together very closely with the - President Trump administration for the future of the region.
Walls aren't the only thing President Trump enjoys touting.
