"I told y'all we would start our wonderful life together, that's why @BrunoMars and I are opening up the 2017 #BETAwards @BETAwards", she announced via Twitter. The 24-year-old rapper will join the likes of Jesse Williams, Al Sharpton, Muhammad Ali, John Legend and several others who have received the award in the past. Those who don't want to watch the award show on television have several options to choose from when it comes to viewing this year's ceremony.

Mars and Beyonce will also compete for album of the year, video director of the year and the viewer's choice award.

Other nominees include Solange, who's nominated for four awards and is up against her sister for Best Female R&B/Pop Artist.

Chance the Rapper will be honored with the coveted humanitarian award. The show will also be available to view on YouTube, and fans with cable provider logins can live stream the show on the BET Now app.
