Earlier this year, INRIX's 2016 Global Traffic Scorecard revealed that Detroit has the best traffic among American metropolitan areas with more than 3 million people.
A study of the 75 most populous metro areas showed Denver has the ninth-worst drivers in the country.
Detroit, MI earned the top spot with the best drivers in the country according to the website's data.
Sacramento ranked No. 1, ahead of Salt Lake City and Riverside.
The rankings were a sum of weighted means calculated by accidents, speeding tickets, DUIs and citations.
On the contrary, Detroit earned the distinction of being America's safest driving city for having the lowest accident rate of the US metro areas and the second-lowest amount of traffic citations, according to QuoteWizard's data. Here's what the authors had to say: The Motor City is home to many distinctions, including having the most expensive vehicle insurance rates in the country. The study said Detroit, Providence and Orlando had the lowest number of accidents and traffic citations. "Despite a topsy-turvy economy and rapidly transforming city scape, your citizens are great drivers".
The worst drivers, according to the study, can be found in Sacramento, California. Coupled with being close to the top for accidents and DUIs, it's no wonder why Sacramento topped the list. Fortunately, Sacramento's sorry drivers can always take solace in the fact that they're not from SoCal.
