Nintendo's SNES Classic Confirmed, Releases September 29

Just like the NES past year, Nintendo has officially announced that the Super Nintendo Entertainment System will be getting a makeover in the form of a miniature replica with HDMI support.

Having two Nintendo game controllers will make it easy for two players to dive into multiplayer action right away. SNES Classic is probably not going to be on sale for long. The short controller length of the original NES Classic was a popular complaint amongst customers, which led to some using wireless options instead.

We heard murmurings of a mini SNES console earlier this year, following the success of the mini NES.

"Super Nintendo Entertainment System: Super NES Classic Edition is now planned to ship from September 29 until the end of calendar year 2017". As for the never before released game, it comes from the Star Fox series, Star Fox 2.

Fans, who were heartbroken to hear that Nintendo has abruptly shut down the NES Classic consoles, here comes the good news for you. That console was also preloaded with games that could be played in HD, and turned out to be a pretty nifty little box.

The NES Classic Mini should have been a home run for Nintendo- and if the intent was to generate some awareness and buzz around the Nintendo brand again, then I guess it was. Among these include Donkey Kong Country, The Legend of Zelda: A Link to the Past, Earthbound, and Star Fox.

At launch there will be two different versions of the console.

Still, a console lives and dies by its games, and the SNES had a ton of iconic titles. However, the company discontinued the console in April of this year, just months after its release.

Here's how much it'll cost, and when you'll be able to buy it in Australia. It follows the NES Classic that went on sale late a year ago but was discontinued in April citing limited resources.

In other words, you better act quick if you want this thing!
