Tonya Evinger (19-5 MMA) was most recently seen in action this past March, where she scored a second-round submission victory over Yana Kunitskaya.
UFC 214 is now set to be headlined by a light heavyweight title fight between champion Daniel Cormier and returning ex-titleholder Jon Jones.
UFC officials confirmed to ESPN on Tuesday night that Anderson was forced to withdraw from the UFC women's featherweight title bout for personal reasons. She'll look to add a UFC championship to her resume when she face Cyborg.
Anderson said in a statement posted to social media that "this is the biggest struggle I have faced yet, but like I always do, I will come back stronger and better than before". "She is as tough as they come and will bring the fight to me the entire time". Long seen as the most dominant female fighter on the planet, Cyborg made her UFC debut in May of a year ago, defeating Leslie Smith via first-round TKO.
The promotion crowned Germaine de Randamie its first 145-pound female champion in February, after she defeated former bantamweight titleholder Holly Holm via decision.
De Randamie refused to fight Cyborg which prompted the UFC to draft in Anderson from Invicta.
Evinger had originally been scheduled to face Helena "Pretty" Kolesnyk as the main event for Invicta FC 24, they are now searching for her replacement. The Anderson-Justino matchup was announced just eight days ago. The Missouri native has been fighting professionally since 2006.
Justino comes into the bout riding a seven-fight winning streak, all of which have been won by knockout or TKO. It's headlined by a light-heavyweight championship rematch between Daniel Cormier and Jon Jones.
