Meetings on eve of Monsoon Session in Parliament

Meanwhile, leaders of the National Democratic Alliance (NDA) Government met in the evening to chalk out their strategy to counter the Opposition in Parliament.

The Congress party today said differences with China over Kashmir were a new focal point, and the party will seek a debate in parliament on the issue.

The leader of opposition in the Rajya Sabha said, "Pakistan would earlier figure in discussions on Kashmir, but now China is mentioned without fail". The members of the upper house remembered parliamentarians, including sitting members Anil Madhav Dave of the BJP and Palvai Govardhan Reddy of the Congress, who passed away in the past few months.
If parties like Mamata Banerjee-led TMC and Lalu Prasad- led RJD attack the government over the action of law enforcement agencies such as the CBI and the ED against their leaders over alleged corruption, the treasury benches too would use the issue to underline their anti-corruption credentials. It also paid homage to some of former members of the Houses.
The Prime Minister also called on all the party to support the war against corruption, which has been initiated by the government.
"This is impossible, unless the government plans to pass all these bills and grants in the din minus any discussion".
