A 32-year-old man is in police custody in IN following two slayings across two southwestern MI counties.
Zachary Patten faces murder and other charges in the death of 29-year-old Shane Richardson in St. Joseph County, Michigan, just north of the in state line.
Authorities say the suspect wanted in connection to two homicides in two counties is in custody.
The second shooting happened shortly after 10 p.m.in St. Joseph County, Michigan.
MLive.com reports that the victim was married to Patten's ex-wife. No charges have been filed in that death.
Patten is considered armed and risky.
Investigators said he is the prime suspect in the Kalamazoo murder. He was last seen driving a gray or silver 2004 Chrysler Pacifica minivan with MI license plate CLN 8224.
