Liverpool will reignite bid to sign goalscoring midfielder after rejected bids

Guinea's Naby Keita is "100 per cent" staying at his current club RB Leipzig, despite interest from Liverpool, according to coach Ralph Hasenhuttl.

The Guinea global has been heavily linked with a move to Liverpool after an impressive season with Leipzig, scoring eight goals and contributing seven assists in 31 Bundesliga appearances as the German side finished second behind Bayern Munich.

Liverpool have reportedly tested RB Leipzig's resolve with two offers - thought to be worth around £57m and £66m - but the German club have remained firm in their stance that Keita is not for sale. Similar to the Reds, Leipzig will be competing in the Champions League next season and it will be the ideal opportunity to see whether Keita can continue to deliver the goods in one of the hardest club competitions in the world.

He is quoted as saying: "Then we'll make a €300m [£268m] offer for Keita!"

'The chance [of Keïta leaving] is null, ' said Hasenhüttl.

Keita scored eight goals and registered seven assists in the league as Leipzig finished second in its first Bundesliga campaign, earning Champions League qualification.

It remains to be seen whether it will be enough to persuade the Bundesliga outfit to sell but it's always hard to keep hold of an unhappy player so I think Liverpool will get a deal agreed in the end.

"At the beginning of the transfer period we said we would start the season with all our best players".

"Everyone can see now how important Naby Keita is with our game".

"I know Naby from the very first day when he came to Salzburg", he said.

"When you play such a famous season as previous year it is normal players get interest, that other clubs are watching us is normal", he said.

"They will finish their transfer activities and that is okay for me".
