The number of flood-affected people who are being served at these kitchens have also increased from yesterday's 3.72 lakh to 4.92 lakh, it said.

The Rohini, Gandak and Rapti rivers were flowing above the danger mark and could breach their banks, adding to the sense of urgency in evacuating people from low-lying villages, said government official Avnish Awasthi.

A total of 1,152 personnel from 28 National Disaster Response Force teams are performing their work of providing services with the help of 118 boats. The forces ended up rescuing over 11,400 people from flood-affected regions. Where flood waters have receded, they are being supplied through panchayats.
According to an official release, the floods have claimed 153 lives.
