"I really encourage anybody who wants a fast-paced combat experience to look at DOOM VFR", adds Game Director Marty Stratton. There are a few notable exceptions, such as Arizona Sunshine, Lone Echo, and Killing Floor: Incursion, but you could still make the argument that VR content is lacking.
The unveiling dates of these games were announced before the yearly QuakeCon conference that will be exclusively about Bethesda. Although releasing on the PlayStation platform initially, Bethesda has said that it will bring it to other headsets in the future. This year at Bethesda's E3 2017 press conference, the publisher announced that Fallout 4 VR would arrive before the end of the year. Today, the company revealed their release dates, and which VR platforms they will be heading towards.
For starters, Doom VFR is the title that fans should be on the lookout for.
On an interesting note, the game's name is a little different among the brood (read: VR vs VFR). Doom VR, meanwhile, will be available on both Vive and PSVR on December 1. The virtual reality features will not be making its way to the original games as updates, but will instead be sold separately. The virtual reality version of Fallout 4 is a complete rebuild of the 2015 game.
The games will be standalone for VR, and not available as an upgrade from the existing versions.
