Game Of Thrones is coming to the end of the seventh season. That fight was soon topped in scale and spectacle by the battle pitting Jamie Lannister, Bronn and the Lannister army against Daenerys, Drogon and her Dothraki. And while Jon Snow (Kit Harington) and Daenerys Targaryen (Emilia Clarke) had their roles to play, they didn't appear to be closely linked. And so it happened - one of Dany's dragons got slain by the Night King.
Thyrion (Peter Dinklage) together with Varys (Conleth Hill) and Theon (Alfie Allen) were also on a ship approaching Casterly Rock.
When Game of Thrones premiered so many seasons ago, many fans probably weren't imagining the day Dany and Jon would finally meet and potentially form an alliance - let alone romance.
Back in King's Landing, Cersei refuses to open the gates, forcing Jaime and the rest of those fighting the White Walkers to find another way in.
In the realms of fiction, Jon and Daenerys might be the best example of a very "close" aunt and uncle but they've still got a fair distance to go in order to claim the title of 'weirdest couple in Westeros.' That award is now being held by Jaime Lannister and his twin sister, Cersei.
They later find out where she is hiding the wild fire, per the Game of Thrones Season 8 leaked script. He also said that aside from shocking twists, the episode will also offer some closure for certain characters. Technically, it's not the first time these characters are inhabiting the same space - hard as it is to remember, they were both in each other's worlds back in the Winterfell days of the series premiere. As Jon says in the trailer: "There's only one war that matters".
The Long Night is over, spring arrives, and they live happily ever after.
Earlier this year there were rumours that the Game of Thrones cast could be the highest paid actors and actresses in television, and now their exact earnings have been made public knowledge.
