Xiaomi Mi 5X September 5 Launch Tipped: Features and Expected Price

While Xiaomi has not revealed the exact device, they are touting the upcoming phone as "Flagship Dual Camera smartphone".

The Xiaomi Mi 5X received more than 200,000 pre-orders in China within 24 hours of opening the bookings. At the front there is a 5-megapixel snapper.

Xiaomi was launched the Mi 6 in April with a standard 5.15-inch, 1920 x 1080 px IPS LCD display and a Snapdragon 835 chipset clocked at 2.45 GHz.

Would you be interested in buying the Xiaomi Mi 5X if it launches in India? The company has sent out press invitations for an event on September 5 in New Delhi, sparking speculation the global variant of the Mi 5x is on its way. The phone runs on Android 7.0 Nougat operating system.

Both the dual camera smartphones have already beenlaunched in China. The phone packs 16GB of internal storage that can be expanded up to 128GB via a microSD card.

On the software side of things, it is one of the first Mi devices, which comes pre-installed with Xiaomi's latest MIUI 9. At the rear, there are two 12-megapixel cameras with phase detection autofocus and dual-LED flash.

The primary rear camera is a wide-angle lens with f/2.2 aperture and 1.25 µm pixel size while the second sensor is a telephoto lens with f/2.6 aperture and 1.0 µm pixel size. It is a further indication that the smartphone might be Mi 5X. In China, the Mi 5X is priced at CNY 1,499 that translates to roughly Rs 14,200.

The Mi 5X notably brings the Mi 6's dual rear cameras to the masses. The phone is available in three different colours - Gold, Black and Rose Gold (Pink). Apart from this, the smartphone offers various connectivity options including 4G VoLTE, Wi-Fi 802.11 (a/b/g/n/ac), Wi-Fi hotspot, Bluetooth 4.2, GPS/A-GPS/GLONASS, IR Blaster, a 3.5mm headphone jack, and a USB Type-C port for fast charging and data transfer.
