Jose Mourinho Worried His Favorite Player Could Leave The Club

Manchester United boss Jose Mourinho was happy with what Ander Herrera had to say after defeat at Huddersfield.

But the Special One appears to be more "worried" about the Belgium worldwide rather than Shaw, as the Englishman's contract still contains an additional one-year clause, which is yet to be triggered by the Old Trafford club.

Ahead of United's clash with Tottenham Hotspur this Saturday, Mauricio Pochettino accused the Portuguese coach of putting Spurs midfielder Eric Dier in a "compromising position."

"I am always disappointed when a player, because he has a new manager, the new manager becomes the best and the old manager becomes very bad, and football is full of examples of lack of character".

"I don't speak about injured players so don't ask me about HarryKane, because to speak about Harry Kane I have to speak about [Zlatan] Ibrahimovic, about [Paul] Pogba, about [Marcos] Rojo, about [Michael] Carrick, so I don't speak".

Defenders Eric Bailly and Phil Jones are expected to return for United.

Jose Mourinho was asked about Luke Shaw's future and had no interest, instead offering an opinion about the contract stand-off with Marouane Fellaini.

And though he's not been fully embraced by a section of the United faithfuls, to his credit Fellaini has grown to be a useful player under Louis van Gaal and now Mourinho.

'I was happy because it shows dignity, character and intelligence to know the reason why we lost the match.

Mourinho said on Friday he was not upset by Shaw's glowing endorsement of Pochettino, but he added it will be hard for the left-back to get the chances he needs to improve his fitness because of competition from Daley Blind, Matteo Darmian, Ashley Young and Marcos Rojo.

"I don't think anyone is afraid to come and play us at Old Trafford. normally we have good performances at home".
