Her three-day visit marks Ivanka Trump's first trip to Japan.
"At the very heart of this vision, Abenomics, is 'womenomics, ' " she said during her 15-minute speech at the fourth World Assembly for Women, a Foreign Ministry event. "I saw a chance to help fuel the number of women-owned businesses and grow our economy".
But while the female-only police force looks like good PR, especially since Ivanka is in Japan to talk about the empowerment of women, the squad would have minimal effect on unsafe criminals, or if one of the Trumps were in danger.
Trump was scheduled to have dinner with Abe on Friday evening before leaving the country on Saturday.
"Five years ago, right after I became Prime Minister, I have raised high the banner of women's empowerment and have placed it in the center of my economic growth policies", Prime Minister Abe announced.
The Japanese police department in Tokyo has put together an all-female squad of officers for specific assignment to first lady Melania Trump and other visiting female dignitaries, including presidential adviser Ivanka Trump, according to a report.
Abe, who was recently re-elected as prime minister after his Liberal Democratic Party scored a landslide victory in the October 22 Lower House election, said in his speech that his government is encouraging more women to join the workforce and boost economic growth.
Wackrow recalls visits to Asian countries during his time on then-first lady Michelle Obama's detail where all-female units were also deployed. Abe has pledged $50 million to the cause, and said he hopes to create "a society where women can shine".
"Countries like the U.S. and Japan can not be complacent".
Ivanka Trump's speech, in fact, was the most registered-for event of the summit and tight security led officials to close doors early to waiting crowds. The president will also meet with relatives of Japanese nationals abducted by North Korea.
