Longtime Boston news anchor Heather Unruh made the tearful and stunning accusation today that two-time Oscar victor Kevin Spacey sexually molested her "starstruck" teenage son a year ago at an upscale Nantucket bar.
She said Spacey tried to get her son to go with him to an after-hours party.
Unruh described her son at the time as a "star-struck, straight" 18-year-old. She said Spacey bought her son "drink, after drink, after drink", and when he was drunk, Spacey stuck his hand inside her son's trousers and grabbed her son's genitals.
Spacey has not commented on Unruh's claim. "Last week my son filed a police report and handed over evidence to the Nantucket Police and now a criminal investigation has begun", she said.
Nantucket police said they couldn't confirm a report was filed because sexual assault reports are confidential.
Heather Unruh detailed the alleged incident during a press conference in Boston on Wednesday with her lawyer Mitchell Garabedian, who is best known for representing the victims of the 2002 Boston archdiocese sex abuse scandal. Spacey apologized in an October 29 tweet - his last - but also said he had no memory of the alleged encounter.
"To Kevin Spacey I want to say this: Shame on you for what you did to my son and shame on you for using your apology to Anthony Rapp to come out as a gay man", said Unruh on Wednesday.
The alleged victim also reported it to police by phone sometime this year, but it's unclear if police are investigating, TMZ reported. That was an appalling attempt to deflect attention from what you really are - a sexual predator.
Netflix and House of Cards producer, Media Rights Capital released a joint statement condemning Spacey, saying they are "deeply troubled".
More than two weeks later, after several other allegations against Spacey were made public, Unruh tweeted, ' The dominoes are falling.
The streaming site then cut ties with Spacey altogether.
Since then, other allegations have surfaced and the Oscar-winning star said he is seeking "evaluation and treatment".
