TMZ.com reports an unnamed source says Manson is not expected to improve and that "it's just a matter of time".
For decades Charles Manson has been one of the world's most notorious mass murderers but it looks like his time may soon be coming to an end.
"Charles Manson is alive", Krissi Khokhobashvili a spokeswoman for the California Department of Corrections and Rehabilitation confirmed, declining to comment on the killer's health and hospitalization because of state and medical privacy laws.
Manson, 83, is serving multiple life sentences at a prison in Corcoran, Calif. TMZ first reported that he was taken to a hospital. Four others were stabbed and shot to death the same night: Jay Sebring, 35; Voytek Frykowski, 32; Abigail Folger, 25, a coffee heiress; and Steven Parent, 18, a friend of Tate's caretaker.
He established the "Family" cult at a ranch in California's Death Valley and arranged a slew of murders in an attempt to provoke war between white and blacks.
It's unclear at which hospital Manson is being treated. He has been denied parole 12 times.
