Trump criticizes CNN for 'representing United States poorly to the world'

On Saturday, Donald Trump took to Twitter to complain about CNN International's news coverage.

U.S. President Donald trump has accused CNN in creating a biased image of the country.

Russia on Saturday, though, made an even bigger statement, as Vladimir Putin signed a law that labels foreign media as "foreign agents" in retaliation for the USA government asking Russian news service RT to do the same thing. However, examples of the pro-Trump website's work can still be seen on its Twitter account.

Top Trump officials have reportedly tried to get him to stop tweeting, and 69 percent of Americans think the former reality television star should quit too. Again, there is "nothing fake about that".

CNN worldwide was prompt in replying back. However, Times was prompt to deny the report.

Former presidential candidate Evan McMullin noted that Trump is lending a hand to authoritarian figures by attacking a network like CNN International.

Comey also may have violated his employment agreement for leaking the memo, but was already out of a job by then. By undermining CNN journalists overseas, the president is directly attacking their "freedom and even safety".

His latest tweet comes about a week after the Department of Justice sued to block AT&T's proposed $85-billion purchase of Time Warner Inc., which owns CNN.

Comey responded, indirectly, on social media.

"Our liberty depends on the freedom of the press, and that can not be limited without being lost". Some see the move as an effort to hand the network over to a conservative buyer, like Rupert Murdoch. "Wow, even I didn't realize we did so much", wrote Trump.

Sure, Fox News might still be the most watched news network in America - but the responses to the president's attack on CNN show that many deeply respect the worldwide reporting delivered by the news channel.
