John Mayer Taken To Hospital For Emergency Appendectomy

Mayer's bandmates, Grateful Dead founding members Bill Kreutzmann and Bob Weir, promised concert goers that the December 5 show will be rescheduled.

Rock singer-songwriter John Mayer on Tuesday went into emergency surgery for removal of his appendix, forcing his band featuring former members of the Grateful Dead to postpone a show.

As for Tuesdays show - we're told original tickets will be honored at the new date - and if fans want a refund, they can return to point of purchase. All tickets for the December 5 show will be honored for the rescheduled date.

Mayer is yet to comment publicly on his emergency surgery.

The group has been touring since 2015 when the Grateful Dead, the legendary jam rockers of the hippie era, officially retired.

The band is scheduled to play the Amway Center in Orlando, Florida on December 7. No other details about Mayer's condition have been released at this time.

Dead & Company is now next scheduled to perform on Thursday at the Amway Center in Orlando, FL. Hopefully the Dead & Co. frontman can get back to performing soon.
