With the release of The Last Jedi, it's more like once every 20 seconds, because every single newsfeed is clogged with Star Wars items. "She even said, 'Is there anything for Billie in it?' - meaning her daughter - ever the stage mother".
The world lost an icon previous year when Carrie Fisher tragically passed away at the age of 60.
Because Fisher would bring him to film premieres and interviews, Gary began to gain a following all on his own.
Launched by Star Wars fan Cody, the Change.org petition reads: "This would be a wonderful way to remember Carrie and a welcoming to one of Disney's new properties that is beloved by millions".
Carrie Fisher's dog, Gary, clearly misses his mom as evidenced by his behavior at a screening for the latest "Star Wars" film, "The Last Jedi". Given that we have a lovely, complete performance from her that I think audiences deserve to see, and I think it will mean a lot for them, that ray of hope from Leia.
Johnson stated that he felt "really strongly" that this narrative for Leia was the one to go with, and that Episode IX director and co-writer J.J. Abrams will undoubtedly find a way to close Leia's story down the line.
