2018 women's Olympic hockey roster has local flair

She'll become the first-ever aboriginal player to suit up for Team Canada's women's hockey team at an Olympics.
An Okanagan Hockey Academy alumni will be representing Canada at the 2018 Winter Olympics in Pyeongchang.
According to Madison.com, former Badgers players Brianna Decker, Meghan Duggan, Hilary Knight and Alex Rigsby remain in contention for Team USA. The 23-year-old Burlington native has been in the Hockey Canada development program for three years and has played with the national team several times, the most recent being the 2017 world championship. "We have some really athletic players that will be joining this roster".
Canada's roster includes three goaltenders, six defensemen and 14 forwards.
The Canadian Women's Olympic Hockey Team also features: 14 players who won the gold medal at the 2014 Olympic Winter Games in Sochi, Russia; six players who won the gold medal at the 2010 Olympic Winter Games in Vancouver, B.C.; and one player who won the gold medal at the 2006 Olympic Winter Games in Turin, Italy.
PyeongChang 2018 will mark the sixth time women's hockey has been part of the Olympic Winter Games.
