James Franco robbed us of Tommy Wiseau's Golden Globe speech

The 75th Annual Golden Globe Awards made sure that it was not a disaster for actor James Franco.

An unverified Twitter account that seems to belong to Ally Sheedy expressed disgust at Franco's win.

The move nearly backfired when Wiseau grabbed the microphone, but James Franco quickly took it back.

"The Room" director/star/writer/producer Tommy Wiseau had the best time at the 2018 Golden Globe Awards, where he was finally recognized for something good.

BuzzFeed News senior tech writer Doree Shafrir was among those who pointed out some kind of irony in Franco wearing the pin celebrating the Time's Up initiative. One tweet read, "James Franco just won".

The 39-year-old actor sparked a social media meltdown when he went to collect his award for Best Performance by an actor in a Motion Picture Musical or Comedy.

In another provocative tweet, Sheedy apparently called out Franco and actor Christian Slater for sexual harassment/abuse.

"Why is a man hosting? Please never ask me why I left the film/tv business". A user by the name of Violet Paley wrote, "Cute #TIMESUP pin James Franco".

Franco in 2014 directed Sheedy in an Off-Broadway production of "The Long Shrift", Vulture reported.

"This is probably the only time in my whole career I'll be directing a movie, and acting in it, playing a guy that's directing a movie that he's acting in", Franco told W Magazine.

He then told The L.A. Times that is indeed what he was planning to say before Franco pushed him away. Others pointed to the incident in 2014 where the actor was caught trying to arrange a hotel hookup with a 17 year old. In 2014, a then-17 year old fan shared an alleged communication on Instagram in which it appears Franco tries to arrange a meeting at a NY hotel. But there is nothing in her tweet that indicated she was referring to that experience.
