Aubameyang and Mkhitaryan impress on Arsenal home debuts

New signings Aubameyang and Henrikh Mkhitaryan combined to set up Ramsey around six yards out and he made no mistake with a cool finish.

By recording three assists, Mkhitaryan was able to match the Chilean's personal tally for the Gunners this term with just one start which, of course, went down tremendously with the Arsenal faithful.

Reflecting on the transfer window this week, Wenger admitted that his delight at securing Aubameyang and Mkhitaryan was tempered somewhat by the Gunners' failure to reinforce what has proved again this season to be a ropey rearguard. With the score already at 3-0, the only thing missing was a debut goal for Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang. Aubameyang slotted into Arsenal's attack straight away and could have had more than one goal. His pace and movement was instrumental in stretching Everton's defence, opening up the gaps which Mkhitrayan, Ramsey and Mesut Ozil so gleefully exploited.

It was the kind of electrifying counter-attacking football Arsenal can expect with Aubameyang leading their attack, and his goal arrived just a few minutes later. Is there more to come from me?

Television replays showed the goal should have been ruled out for offside, although the visitors could hardly claim the decision made a huge difference to the match.

"He didn't do it until now because I think he rushed, sometimes, with his finishing". The impressive Henrikh Mkhitaryan cut the ball back for Aaron Ramsey who steered it home to grab the first hat-trick of his career.

"I'm not frustrated, I'm angry, very angry at the players performing to that level". Ramsey opened the scoring after being played in by new signing Mkhitaryan who started his first game for Arsenal in the Premier League.

'They've brought quality into this team.

Can they convince Ramsey to sign a new contract this summer and avoid a repeat of the countdown pressure exerted by Ozil and Sanchez? It was an excellent finish for the Welshman, and a fine way to complete his first hat-trick as an Arsenal player.

17 - OOPS! Smiles as he inadvertently gets a foot to a low shot from Nacho Monreal and sends the ball rolling out for an Everton goal kick. Arsenal fans didn't have to wait long as Mkhitaryan played the ball through and the Gabon worldwide nonchalantly chipped it over Jordan Pickford in the Everton goal.

Everton's unbalanced squad has not been improved enough during the January transfer window and Allardyce faces a hard second half of the season in which he must improve results or face doubts as to whether he really is the right man for the job.
