Brockton mom charged with murdering two sons

Plymouth Country District Attorney Timothy Cruz said the victims, who were found dead inside the third-floor apartment at 247 Prospect St., were 5 and 8 years old.

The horrific deaths of Latarsha Sanders' two sons, ages 5 and 8, were detailed in Brockton District Court.

Mayor Bill Carpenter's office sent out a robocall to members of the Brockton City Council on Monday afternoon confirming the stabbing deaths of two children in the city.

According to the interviews, Sanders stated that voodoo has been part of her life.

Cruz said Sanders later confessed to the crime, and that she may have waited up to two days to tell anyone.

Plymouth Assistant District Attorney Jessica Kenny said that Sanders originally blamed her 16-year-old daughter and the teenager's father for the murders, but then eventually told authorities how she allegedly killed the them. Lalli said he believes Sanders' older child may have been working at the time of the killings.

Police and fire responded and went to the apartment on Prospect Street yesterday shortly after noon, where the two boys were found dead with "multiple" stab wounds, Cruz revealed. State police say they located a kitchen knife left in the sink that is believed to be the murder weapon.

"This is a gruesome, disturbing and most of all a heartbreaking crime", said Cruz.

She pleaded not guilty and a judge ordered her held without bail. The suspect is the #Mother (43) who happened to ask a neighbor to call the police after the attacks.

'The ambulance driver put her on the stretcher and all of a sudden she started screaming and kicking around, ' said Lalli.

"Miss Sanders made statements that could be construed as admissions to this crime to investigators", said Cruz.
