The stock market losses and market "correction" over the past couple of weeks reduced oil prices and, in turn, lowered the price at the pump, experts said.
Including the change in gas prices in Lansing during the past week, prices yesterday were 15.2 cents per gallon higher than the same day one year ago and are 28.8 cents per gallon lower than a month ago.
Weekly gas prices in Lancaster County fell last week for the first time in 2018, a price-tracking website says.
According to GasBuddy.com, average retail gasoline prices in the Harrisburg area have fallen 2 cents a gallon in the past week, averaging $2.83 a gallon.
Gas prices jumped another 6 cents over the week in Southwest Florida, but drivers could soon see some relief. The national average has increased 3.7 cents per gallon during the last month and stands 29.4 cents per gallon higher than this day one year ago.
Nashville- $2.40/g, down 4.1 cents per gallon from last week's $2.44/g. "Expect volatility at the pump as these forces collide". According to the U.S. Energy Information Administration, prices began to shift midway through last week with gains in both domestic production and inventory.
The most expensive market for gas is Hawaii, where it is averaging $3.44, followed by California, where motorists are paying $3.35 on average, and Alaska, where it's $3.04 a gallon.
Tucson- $2.27/g, up 1.2 cents per gallon from last week's $2.26/g.
People who prefer lower gas prices should head west to North Okeechobee Road in the Hialeah Gardens area, where three stations on North Okeechobee Road in Hialeah Gardens had gas for $2.49 and under.
