Mourinho admitted (via Sky Sports) that while Valencia, Herrera and Rashford are likely to be fit for the clash at the Ramon Sanchez Pizjuan, he is set to be without four others while Pogba remains a doubt.
In the league as a whole, only six teams have conceded more goals than Sevilla's 35 this season, which is four more than they have managed to score.
The 24-year-old Lukaku (3rd minute, 55th) scored in either half to seal Manchester United an important victory after being outplayed by the home side in the initial 45 minutes during the match on Saturday.
Mourinho, however, hit back at what believes are "lies" regarding the France global before he later talked about his desire to strengthen midfield with Carrick, 36, set to retire at the end of the season and take up a role on United's coaching staff.
'We need to sign a midfield player, ' said Mourinho. The [best] way is to go out there and prove people wrong and go show them you can adapt, change and prove that what Manchester United paid is worth it because you are not a one-trick pony.
Despite having the goal chalked off, Spaniard Mata said he was in favour of the VAR system, but Huddersfield manager David Wagner, whose team benefited from the decision, said it was "killing the emotion of the game".
"I felt I needed to make a little bit of a statement about the events", Pardew said. "I don't have to tell you anything about it", the Portuguese boss added. All eight players ruled out with injuries and Paul Pogba also missed the contest from falling ill overnight.
As explained by Scholes: "He [Ferguson] originally wanted me to come back to coach the reserve team with Warren Joyce".
Manchester United have been handed a major boost as one of their key midfielders has returned to training ahead of their midweek Champions League clash. They are now the closest to the Champions League places, but it will be a real challenge for them to get there in the end.
Metro believes that was Mourinho's way of criticising Pogba for his "rather flamboyant lifestyle", a criticism that the paper claims represents a worrying deterioration in the pair's relationship. "Lets go step by step".
"It is black or white".
"Perhaps, more importantly, Real president Florentino Perez does not view him as a target".
The pressure sent the Red Devils back into their shells somewhat, and they slowed the tempo of the game with some consistent spells of possession in the midfield areas, not looking to be too adventurous going forward.
It was a comfortably won match in which Sevilla got the lead through Wissam Ben Yeder in first half, while Pablo Sarabia doubled it five minutes after the break. We know it's going to be a hard game, but we're doing well at the moment and we'll do everything in our power to go through against United.
