Rev. Billy Graham Dies at 99

The evangelist brought his "Billy Graham Crusades" around the world, preaching to more than 210 million people in 185 countries and territories, the ministry said.

Franklin Graham has advised Trump and defended the president against his critics. "There was nobody like him!" He said, "Christianity is not a white man's religion, and don't let anybody ever tell you that it's white or black. A very special man". Meeting in a hotel in Modesto, California, they pledged to never be alone in a room with a woman other than their wives, and to keep honest financial records.

"We send our deepest condolences to the Graham family", the vice president said. We are all joining together in expressing our love to the Graham family even as we thank God for the incredible life of Dr. Billy Graham.

In 2002 Mr Graham apologised after secretly recorded tapes from 1972 revealed he and Mr Nixon agreed liberal Jews dominated the United States news media. Unashamedly Christian, he demonstrated a graciousness that extends to persons inside and outside the church.

Graham held great popularity in Oklahoma, and helped dedicate Oral Roberts University in the 60s. He created his own brand of populist evangelism.

"He was a man of such deep and abiding conviction about the message of the cross and about the love of God and forgiveness and life and meaning and goal", Wilton said. "Graham's service is a testament that, with faith in God, one person can do so much good for the world". In 1988, the Grahams traveled there to encourage its fledgling Christian community.

Graham was a tall, powerful figure, like a great National Football League quarterback. He said: "I don't advise them, I pray with them".

Evangelist Billy Graham died at the age of 99, his publicist confirmed Wednesday.

In 2014, I had the privilege of talking with Graham's grandson, Will, who was in town to pave the way for the Rev. Franklin Graham to preach at Jacksonville's Greater Jacksonville Festival of Hope the following year. Graham made an effort to racially integrate his rallies, refusing to preach to segregated audiences.

Graham's ethics and his emphasis on cooperation among different faiths earned him widespread respect.

"He filled a football stadium with a fully integrated audience, reminding them that we all come before God as equals, both in our imperfection and our absolute claim to fantastic grace", Clinton recalled in a statement.

Former U.S. President Bill Clinton speaks along with Billy Graham. They were married in 1943, until her death in 2007. As preachers everywhere, not only Nigerian preachers, we should be focused and know what God has called us to do. He is the author of the book Billy Graham: A Life in Pictures from 2013.
