Chelsea boss Antonio Conte says N'Golo Kante fit after fainting incident

Palace have lost four of their last six games and won just twice in 2018.

"N'Golo is fine", he told the club's official website.

The reigning champions lost to Manchester United and Manchester City in their last two games, but things were rather more straightforward this time around and they should have claimed a more comprehensive win over Palace given the number of chances they created.

The services of Nigerian star, Victor Moses, were not required as Chelsea returned to winning ways on Saturday with a 2-1 victory over relegation battlers, Crystal Palace.

Chelsea are fifth with nine games to go, five points behind fourth-placed Tottenham and seven adrift of third-placed Liverpool.

To that end Conte will have been grateful to recall N'Golo Kanté, missing from defeat at Manchester City last week after fainting during a training session.

Chelsea need to be playing in the Champions League - it's where we belong.

However, the Eagles are a very different proposition, with Conte explaining: "If I think it's right for the team to play this way, it's OK".

"The teams ahead of us are going with a great velocity and it is important for us to not drop points in games, and in the future exploit the games we have at home".

Crystal Palace's injury nightmare continues, but Roy Hodgson could welcome back Yohan Cabaye (groin injury) and Joel Ward (muscle injury).

Antonio Conte's side is locked with Barcelona at 1-1 heading into the second leg on Wednesday.

"If there can be a positive aspect from his injury, it is that he has had a lot of time to process the bad performance against Watford".

"No, normally when you come up against a team who are not having the best of times, that can be very risky", he said. Don't forget Baka is only 23. They have fantastic players, are a brilliantly run and powerful club, and have a very good manager and coaching staff.

"We tried to finish the game, kill the game, but I think that we tried and the goalkeeper made good saves". Tiemoue Bakayoko could return from his calf problem, but he'll have to pass a late fitness test. David Luiz, Ethan Ampadu and Ross Barkley are all expected to miss out, but the latter may be back sooner than his counterparts.
