Police investigating video of woman on horse inside Miami Beach nightclub

Miami Beach Police posted a video on their social media page Friday of a woman riding a white horse inside the Mokai Lounge.

Just when you thought glitzy, bottle-service nightclubs couldn't get any worse, someone chose to force a live horse into the mix of a packed Miami nightclub. "This is inhumane and deserves serious attention ASAP". A change.org petition began asking the city for the shutdown. The city manager revoked its license and deemed the incident a threat to public safety and potential violations of animal cruelty laws. "They're lucky nobody including the horse was seriously injured or killed", a Facebook comment reads.

The animal's well-being was also a big concern, but authorities were able to locate the horse and have said the animal is in good health. "We're looking at it from a police perspective in terms of animal cruelty".

Mayor Dan Gelber praised the revocation of the club's business license, saying, "Animal cruelty is an abhorrent and vile act". "Whatever it is that we can find to charge appropriately is what'll happen in this investigation".

The incident may recall a famous 1977 photograph of Bianca Jagger astride a white stallion in the NY nightclub Studio 54.

Bianca Jagger, now an animal rights activist, has said she regrets the incident and said the often-told story that she rode the horse into the club is not true.

In 2015, she defended her action in a letter to the Financial Times. "No doubt you will agree with me that it is one thing to, on the spur of the moment, to get on a horse in a nightclub, but it is quite another to ride in on one".
