Ryan Giggs wants Gareth Bale to stay at Real Madrid

Gareth Bale doesn't care that it's "just" the China Cup, a two-year-old worldwide tournament of little notoriety or effect, he's desperate to win a trophy - any trophy - for his native Wales.

However, Giggs believes that the La Liga side is the best place for Bale, who on Thursday became Wales' all-time top scorer after netting a hat-trick in their 6-0 win over China.

"To win any trophy is always good", Bale said ahead of Monday's China Cup final against Uruguay in Nanning.

"It would be massive".

Having made it to the semi-finals of Euro 2016, Bale admits that failure to qualify for Russian Federation 2018 has come as a "massive disappointment" to all concerned with the Wales set-up.

Bale added: "It was a massive disappointment not to reach this summer's World Cup, after an "incredible experience" at Euro 2016".

'I suppose missing out makes us even more hungry to try to qualify for the next campaign.

But Bale said: "We know Uruguay have some great players, it's not just Suarez".

"We wanted to keep on qualifying for major tournaments".

It's another global break and thus, kind of a slow time when it comes to big headlines, but there's still a whole lot of important Manchester United news items out there.

Manchester United's highest appearance maker and most decorated player Ryan Giggs has told Gareth Bale that he should forget about moving back to the Premier League with the Red Devils and stay at his current club Real Madrid.

Asked where he could get better as a manager, Giggs said: "I am not a naturally outgoing person. But for your country it's that bit more special, you have it in your heart and your blood", said Bale, who has won 10 trophies with Madrid, including three Champions Leagues and last season's LaLiga title.
