Romelu Lukaku sends direct message to Man United fans about Alexis Sanchez

"Of course it is important to finish strongly", said Lukaku.

Ten minutes into the second half, Sanchez was unlucky not to have found his second goal of the match after he was set up by Lukaku, but the former Arsenal man's header sailed just over the crossbar.

It's a serious achievement for a 24-year-old.

Alexis Sanchez then doubled their lead 15 minutes later when he latched onto a good pass from Jesse Lingard before finding the bottom corner from the edge of the box.

Lukaku has been under a lot of pressure this season as Mourinho's only real option up front, but he's responded well, despite a brief lull in form over the winter months.

"It's not just about the goals he scores it's about everything, even the defensive movement".

But even allowing for Swansea's miserable first half showing, there were a lot of positives from the latest United display - particularly England worldwide Jesse Lingard. That they often aren't is an indictment of Mourinho's approach. However, once again they had to call upon their goalkeeper to save them.

Swansea offered very little in the first half on Saturday and only recorded three shots in the whole match, but that didn't stop De Gea from proving his worth once more.

The visitors made two changes for the second half as Tom Carroll and a Tammy Abraham replaced Ki Sung-yeung and Nathan Dyer.

As well as scoring, Sanchez also laid on the first for Lukaku.

Manchester United are now second as they aim to secure a top-four finish and the FA Cup title this season. Palace remain two points above the relegation zone. However, with the global break, the attacker appears to have got the chance to revive his old form, and he was hugely productive against Swansea with a goal and an assist.

"We were not happy so we moved things at the break and corrected the tactical things. with this we controlled the game better and won more balls".
