Wolves, Ladies eye post-season play with district wins

"We just had a discussion that when guys throw six innings, seven innings, we usually fare pretty well", Beward said.

Offensively, every Tiger in the lineup contributed.

"Eric's really hitting the ball well", Duey noted. "I could see the emotion out of him when he pulled into third base". When one person got a hit, the next person would do their job and we were just able to put some hits together. As Junkiewitz was about to lay down the bunt, the third baseman simultaneously ran towards home plate to field the ball.

Standouts from the trip include Trevor Bentley who finished hitting 6 for 11 with a double, homerun, and four RBI.

And Sturdefant was 2-for-3 with three runs and one RBI.

Kaczmarek, a junior, scattered five hits and was in control after the first inning. The Broncos added a second run when Eric Anderson singled and scored on a two-out single by Tynan O'Brien.

"Having lost six starters to graduation, including the Pine to Prairie (Conference) player of the year Ben Thoma, our lack of experience, depth at each position and leadership is going to be a tough obstacle to overcome", Stalboerger said.

Jacob Frerichs and Tai Dobrinich would continue to put pressure on the Pana starting pitcher as they would join Kulick on the base paths as both batters would be granted a base on balls. Gayle whiffed five 'Riders and walked one.

Bielfeldt stole home plate to cut GCMS's deficit to 2-1. Sophomore Shawn O'Brien (.343) and senior Hunter Reeves (.308) also hit above.300 for Blackduck in 2017, while the Drakes batted.271 as a team.
