Liverpool's Moh Salah sole African on 2018 PFA Team of the Year

The PFA Team of the Year selection is rarely without controversy and this year's edition is no different.

The LFC No.11 is joined in the PFA's three-man attack by Tottenham Hotspur's Harry Kane and Manchester City's Sergio Aguero.

Manchester City stars have dominated the PFA Premier League Team of the Year, with five players featuring in the star-studded line-up which features Mohamed Salah as revealed on Wednesday.

However, with Salah netting an incredible 30 goals in his debut season with Liverpool, the Belgium global admits he can not compete with those numbers.

Tottenham Hotspur are the next best represented side as star striker Harry Kane takes the centre-forward role, with Christian Eriksen and Jan Vertonghen also included.

There can be no arguments over the midfield trio but there's another question over Sergio Aguero's place.

In a 4-3-3 formation, Man Utd shot-stopper David De Gea is in goal with Kyle Walker, Jan Vertonghen, Nicolas Otamendi and Marcos Alonso - the sole player from dethroned champions Chelsea - across the back line. And Aguero has enjoyed another fine season scoring 30 in all competitions, including 21 in the Premier League alone.
