Justise Winslow fined $15000 for stepping on Joel Embiid's mask

After missing the final eight games of the regular season and the first two of the playoffs after undergoing surgery to fix an orbital bone fracture - forcing him to wear a Batman-like mask on the court - Embiid was his typically physical and active self. To a man, they offered the same word: "scary". In fact, he has a warning for the Miami Heat. That part of the streak has been the latest impressive aspect of the Sixers' rapid development this season, giving them pause about putting Embiid back out there before he's completely ready to play.

"You can't spend too much time on an uncertainty", Spoelstra said. He scored two points in Game 1, four in Game 2, and five in Game 3.

Maybe Spo can squeeze more out of Goran Dragic, who had 23 points and eight assists.

"The Phantom of the Process" made his dramatic playoff debut Thursday when Joel Embiid was cleared to play in Game 3 of his 76ers' first-round series against the Heat. They're serving notice to opposing teams that they'll fight back and will come back harder if provoked.

He wore a black mask to protect his facial injury and said Friday that he had trouble with it throughout the game. Embiid suffered a broken orbital bone in March after his face bumped into rookie Markelle Fultz's head. "And there was a real confidence the way he played to make those shots".

"It meant a lot", Embiid said of finally appearing in his first playoff game, close to four years after the 76ers took him No 3 overall in the 2014 draft.

That's when punters at home started taking notice of the man's scary new look.

Classic Dwyane Wade, however, was not on display during Game 3 on Thursday.

"It was annoying", Embiid said of the mask with a shrug, "but that was the only way I could play in this game".

Embiid wasn't the only one banging bodies on Thursday. The 76ers are averaging more than 120 points per game during this season and Miami has also eclipsed the 100-mark on all three occasions. Each team received three technical fouls.

This statistic should be repeated: the Philly bench was a +42 and the Miami bench was a -68.

Philadelphia's big three showed up with Joel Embiid (23 points, seven rebounds, three blocks, four assists and only three turnovers), Ben Simmons (19 points, 12 rebounds, seven assists, four steals and +24) and Dario Saric (21 points, seven rebounds, four assists and zero turnovers).

In the day's other Western Conference playoff game, Kevin Durant contributed 26 points, nine rebounds and six assists as the Golden State Warriors beat San Antonio 110-97 for a 3-0 series lead over the Spurs, . I work in a restaurant, mostly nights during game times and usually have to search all over the web to see who's streaming games just so I am able to watch while at work.
