Filming Starts On American Gods Season 2

The God Squad is back together: Neil Gaiman has shared the first picture from American Gods season two as filming on the Amazon Prime Video series begins. He was at The House on the Rock with some of the cast members, and this is where the production of the show has started.

"The first season was all about getting to the House on the Rock", Gaiman said.

This suggests that American Gods' second season will likely be dedicated to the war of the gods hinted at end of the show's first season finale. In the teaser below, Gaiman shows off The House on the Rock-an essential location from Gaiman's source material that will be included in the second season.

In Season 1, Mr. Wednesday (Ian McShane) and Shadow Moon (Ricky Whittle) were searching for the remaining Old Gods across America. World, Cloris Leachman (Raising Hope) as Zorya Vechernyaya, Peter Stormare (Fargo) as Czernobog, Mousa Kraish (Superbad) as The Jinn, Omid Abtahi (Argo) as Salim, Chris Obi (Snow White and the Huntsman) as Anubis, and Demore Barnes (Waco) as Mr. Ibis.

American Gods is still a very important series for Starz just because it continues their association with a popular author and beyond that, features an exciting, dramatic story that is really different from something that you are seeing virtually anywhere else.

At one point in the book, Wednesday gathers a group of ancient deities together to warn them of the existential threat represented by the New Gods. Jesse Alexander ("Hannibal", "Heroes") will serve as showrunner and executive producer this season. SVP Original Programming Marta Fernandez and Manager of Original Programming Kathleen Clifford are the Starz execs in charge.
