Chelsea boss Antonio Conte would rather have fate in his own hands

Former Arsenal midfielder, Paul Merson has predicted that Antonio Conte's Chelsea will have an easy victory over Huddersfield Town in the Premier League on Wednesday night. However, instead of holding back and avoiding further run-ins with the board, Conte missed a trick and went on to say that the recruitment policy entirely rests with the club's executives including director Marina Granovskaia.

Admittedly, Liverpool only need a home win against lowly Brighton to guarantee a top-four place, and the Seagulls have already secured their Premier League status.

This is regardless of whether Liverpool wins Champions League against Real Madrid at the same time finishing outside the top four bracket.

"They lost this weekend, so it gives us a bit more energy and hope, so that's why we want to fight to the end". A win followed by a draw in their last two matches provide solace to the Saints fans who will be hoping for a miracle at the Liberty.

"We are getting three points every game".

The Terriers poor position has been caused by a lack of goals, as the Terriers have scored just 27 league goals this season, with no team scoring fewer goals in the top-flight this season.

Alongside the reliable Cesar Azpilicueta and increasingly important Antonio Rudiger, Cahill has helped keep three consecutive clean sheets to reinvigorate Chelsea's late season.

"We must recover, find the right solution and think we can win the game in 90 minutes and not in the way that we start".

And when requested concerning the prospect of the match at Stamford Bridge being his remaining sport on the stadium, Conte replied: 'I am very centered on the current and I believe my reply is at all times the identical.

Spurs can not afford another slip-up at home against Newcastle at Wembley, with their spot in the Champions League in major danger.

Tottenham's season may be fizzling out but they, too, have a game in hand on Liverpool.

In fact, Huddersfield have drawn a blank in 13 Premier League away trips this season - a joint-record (also Norwich City 1994-95, Southampton 1998-99 and Middlesbrough 2002-03). The Magpies form has taken a slight downturn since reaching safety, as they have suffered three consecutive defeats in the league. They travel back to the north east of England, heading to Anfield as they aim for another giant killing-one that could have even bigger ramifications.

Klopp is also aiming to steer Liverpool FC to Champions League glory when they take on Real Madrid in the final in Kiev at the end of the month.
