The timeline remained unclear whether Paul might be fine to play a possible Game 7 if the Rockets lost Saturday night's Game 6 and had to return to Houston to face the Golden State Warriors again Monday night. The Warriors won Game 1 in Houston, and the Rockets responded, winning by 22 in Game 2.
The Warriors opened as five-point favorites at the Westgate Las Vegas SuperBook for Game 7. "I guarantee if we start the game like we did tonight and they jump out to a lead, it'll be 10 times harder to make it a game". Game 7 is Monday night in Houston. So, the pressure doesn't seem to bother him much.

Both teams will now head back down to the Toyota Center to play Game 7. "He's very responsible for us getting here, so he needs to be here". There's Steve Kerr, the philosopher coach whose vision for how this team should play transformed it from a good team under Mark Jackson to a legendary one under his leadership. Paul essentially gives the Rockets two point guards in himself and James Harden, and allows Harden so much more freedom and spacing to be an elite scorer. "We've got to win two basketball games and we've done that an bad lot, so we're very confident". Throwing fireballs in the first quarter inflated their point total but Houston's offense was lacking it's characteristic measure of control. Their Eastern Conference final is also tied at 3-3 with the decider played on Sunday.
Game 7 is going to be one of the all-time greats, as a number of players will put their legacies on the line with the hopes that it'll culminate in a trip to the NBA Finals.

On the secret to their second-half turnaround, Thompson - who was nine-for-14 from three-point range - added: "Effort, intensity and passion". Not only was Thompson terrific offensively, but he played a major role in slowing down James Harden in the second half.
Of course, the 2016 Warriors went on to blow a 3-1 lead against the Cavaliers in the Finals, a defeat that spoiled their record-setting season and turned the most important performance of Thompson's career into a footnote.
"A lot of miscommunication", Harden said.
Golden State did it playing again without forward Andre Iguodala, who missed his third straight game of the series with a bone bruise in his left knee sustained in Game 3.
"We like our formula", Kerr said. "It's more up to the individual and how he's feeling, and we don't really know". But the final score of 115-86 was not at all indicative of how the game went for the first three quarters.
